Obituary of Selestine White

Funeral services for Selestine Mary White age 81 of Kelly will be held 11am Sunday September 18, 2011 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev.'s Blanson and Marshall Wooten officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joe / St. Bethel Cemetery at Kelly. Visitation will be on Sunday morning from 9am until time of service at the funeral home. Born Selestine Mary Harrison on November 14, 1929 at Mamou, La to the union of her parents Bud Harrison and Angeline Pitre Harrison, she passed from this life on Monday September 12, 2011 at the St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Roy Hilton White and her son Amos White. She was an active member of the St. Joe Baptist Church at Kelly. Survivors include four sons; Roy White and wife Elsie of Kelly, Edward White and wife Vonda of West Monroe, James White and wife Jennifer of Kelly, and Darrell White and wife Valerie of Dallas, Texas; and her daughter Phyllis White of Grayson. She also leaves six sisters, Dorlicia Frank of Mamou, Lillie Mae Richmond of Chicage, Orelia Sykes of Chicago, Lucy Living of Stockton,CA; Orlease Stevens and Orlean Jurvis of Tallahasse; and one brother Lewest Harrison of Mamou. She also leaves a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers include John Preston, Billie Ray Preston, Andrew Preston, Jr.; Bobby L. Preston, Paul Roquemore, and Calvin Wooten, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Roy White, Sr.; Edward White, James White, Darrell White, Wayne Alexander, Jimmy Alexander, Roy White, Jr.; Amos White, Jr.; Billy R. Butler, and Byron Stiff.
