Obituary of Cora Mae Bass

Funeral services for Cora Mae Milton Bass, age 81 of Olla, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. Eddie Wayne Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Olla. Visitation will be Friday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Olla from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mrs. Bass was born in Norphlet, AR on October 21, 1929 to the union of Ralph Norford and Nell Alexander Milton and passed peacefully to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at St. Francis Specialty Hospital in Monroe. Cora Mae was a member of Standard Baptist Church in Olla and a homemaker. She was a lady with a generous spirit who loved her children and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert "Bud" Bass, son, Rodney Bass and sister, Carolyn Thompson. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronald Bass and wife, Becky of Katy, TX, twin daughters: Shirley Mann of Olla and Sharon Joyce and husband, John R. of Calhoun, two brothers: Donald Milton and wife, Jerry of Olla and Richard Milton of Jena, two sisters: Josephine Holmes and husband, Mickey and Mary Thiels both of Alexandria, grandchildren: Angela Thorn (Shannon), Amanda Hughart (Chris), Shannon Gannon (Shawn), Raun Bass (Tiffany), Rick Bass (Shannon), Robert Bass (Mindy) and Rory Bass, twelve great-grandchildren: Colin Thorn, Cara Hughart, Carson Hughart, Jordan Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Shelby Gannon, Gage Gannon, Emma Grace Bass, Avery Bass, Riley Bass, Landon Bass and Adalynn Mae Bass and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Raun Bass, Rick Bass, Robert Bass, Rory Bass, Chris Hughart, Shannon Thorn, Jordan Roberts and Jacob Roberts.
