Obituary of Murll Snody

Funeral services for Murll Albert Snody will be held 10am Tuesday October 4, 2011 from the Standard Baptist Church at Olla with the Rev. Shad Tibbs and Rev. James Simons officiating. Wayne Clark will minister through song. Burial will follow in the Olla Cemetery with services under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. The Snody Family will have visitation on Monday evening from 3pm until 9pm at the Standard Baptist Church. Murll Albert Snody was born on July 12, 1914 to the union of his parents John Jasper Snoddy and Ella Ester Snoddy and left to be with the Lord on September 30, 2011 at 7:45am at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was a member and deacon for 65 years at Standard Baptist Church and was song leader for 58 years. He was a retired employee of Louisiana Power & light, and afterwards was Dispatcher with the Lasalle Parish Sheriffs Department. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Carolyn Snody Hayes, son John Sherman Snody Sr. and son Arnie Snody; also by his brothers Edward Lee Snody, James Adron Snody, and Homer Vernon Snoddy, and a sister Nora Mae Snody Nugent. Murll leaves behind his wife Carole King Wilson Snody, son, Alvie Benard Snody and wife Belle Snody; son, Benny Terry Snody and wife Rowella Terry; one daughter, Vickie Snody Nugent and husband Roy Gene Nugent; and two step-sons, Johnny B. Ruddell and wife Ofelia Ruddell; and Keith Maloney and wife Linda Maloney. He also leaves a sister Addie Mae Gough and a brother Mitch Miller. Pallbearers will be Robert Snoddy, Frankie Hayes, Glen Snody, John Snody Jr, James Wiggins, and Jimmy Barron. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Dale Snoddy and John Daniel Snoddy.
