Obituary of Lucille Grivette Slay

Funeral services for Lucille Grivette Slay, 76, of Olla, will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. Brian Rankin officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Olla Cemetery. Lucille was born October 4, 1935 to Alvin and Eula McBroom Grivette and she passed from this life on October 16, 2011 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. She was a die hard Saints fan. She coached softball for 10 years and she was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Ray Slay; her parents; her son: John David Slay; numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son: Mark Allen Slay and his wife Barbara of New Iberia; two daughters: Cynthia Rayeann Slay of Olla; Melissa Slay Nagler and her husband Tom of Olla; one sister: Voynne Gabbert of California; four grandchildren: Thomas Nagler, Heather Nagler, Bradley Nagler, and Nataleigh Nagler, all of Olla; sister in law: Anita Colvin of Benton. Pallbearers will be Mark Slay, Tom Nagler, Thomas Nagler, Bradley Nagler, T.J. Balsamo, and Steve Colvin.
