Obituary of Andrew J. Meadors
Graveside services for Andrew Jackson (Jack) Meadors of Grayson, La. will be held Friday May 26, 2017 at 10 AM at Bethany Cemetery in Hebert with Bro. Brian Rankin officiating. Visitation will be May 25, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia.
Andrew Jackson Meadors was born to his parents, Ashley Jackson and Thelma Jordan Meador, September 13, 1932. He passed from this life on May 24, 2017 in the Haven Nursing Center after an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Lynn Miller, his sisters Louise Ellis and husband Chester Ray, Avis Stamps and husband John, brother Tommy Meador and wife Shelia, sister-in-law Rhonda Meador, three nephews, Michael Stamps, Billy Ellis, and Robert Stamps.
Left to cherish his memory is his son Cletus A. (Andy) Meadors and wife Joyce of Fayetteville, Arkansas, his daughters Cindy Talbert and husband James and Sarah Meadors both of Grayson, his sister, Annie Callender and husband Bud of Hebert, brothers, Charles Meador and wife Gwen of Hebert, and Ricky Meador of Guin, Al. He is also survived by his grandson Jimmy Meadors and wife Sarah of Fayettville, Ar., five granddaughters, Crystal Cook and husband Chris of Junction City, Co., and Mandy Meadors of Huttig, Ar, Bridgett Dannehl of San Jose, Ca., Holly and Jamie Talbert of Liddieville, the mother of his children, Myrtis Meadors of Grayson, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces.
For many years Andrew was a self employed carpenter in Caldwell Parish. After his retirement, he worked for the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Department, as a resource officer at Caldwell Parish High School and later at the Caldwell Correctional Center.
Pallbearers will be Russell Meador, James Talbert, Scott Meador, Ricky Meador, Bud Callendar, and Harris Clark.
