Obituary of Gordon Parmer

Funeral services for Gordon Ray Parmer, age 55, of Columbia will be held 11am Tuesday graveside at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery , west of Columbia with the Rev. Julius Russell officiating. Services are under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9am until 10:30am at the funeral home. Gordon Ray Parmer was born on February 16, 1956 at Monroe, LA to the union of his parents Clyde Osborne Parmer and Helen Smith Parmer. He passed from this life on Friday October 28, 2011 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Shreveport following an extended illness. Ray was a mechanic and a U S Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War Era. Survivors include his wife, Linda Clark Parmer of Columbia; his beloved parents, Clyde O. & Helen Parmer of Monroe; four sons, Derrick Marshall, Huey Marshall, Patrick Marshall, and Kevin Taylor, all of Monroe ; one sister, Diane Parmer of LaPorte, Texas; his uncle, Edward Parmer of Clarks; two cousins, Suzy Butler and Dennis Parmer both of Clarks; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
