Obituary of Jimmy L Fish

Funeral services for Jimmy L. Fish age 79 of Olla will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 9, 2017 from the Olla chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Phillips and Thomas H. Hilton officiating. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday at the Riser Funeral chapel in Olla from 9:00 AM until time of service. Jimmy Lansdon Fish was born on November 14, 1937 at Norphlett, Arkansas to the union of his parents, James Lansdon Fish and Alena Pearl Dozier Fish and he passed from this life on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following a brief illness. Mr. Fish was an educator for many years having taught in Caldwell and LaSalle parish's and St. Matthews Catholic School in Monroe. Mr. Fish was loved and appreciated by all his students. He was also a mud engineer and consultant with Baroid Oil located in Texas and Hunt Oil and Placid Oil. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Monroe and he served in the United States Navy as a nuclear weapons specialist. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Wanda Stott.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his beloved wife, Fran Hilton Fish of Olla, his two sons: Larry Fish and wife, Darla of Sachse, Texas and Lansdon Fish and wife, Kim of Bethany, Missouri, and three grandsons: Zachary Fish, Cody Fish and Joshua Fish. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.Serving as pallbearers will be Darren Maxwell, Gary Wilson, Denver Finley, Al Spence, Robert Carroll and Steve Barbo.Serving as honorary pallbearers will be men from the Olla First Baptist Church Senior 2 sunday school class. In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Fund.
