Obituary of Melba Grant Strange

Funeral services for Melba Grant Strange, age 73 of Columbia will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 3, 2017 from the sanctuary of Outreach Baptist Church with Bro. C.R. Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at the church from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Melba Grant Strange was born on January 15, 1944 at Columbia, LA to the union of her parents, Ray Veston Grant and Carmen Parthenia Duck Grant and she passed from this life on Friday, December 1, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness. Melba was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Morris Grant and Isom Strange and by two sisters: Mary Ann Martin and Betty Hodges.

Survivors include her husband of forty-nine years, Joe Strange; daughter-in-law, Lynn Grant; her sister Faye Krueger; special friends, Roger and Stephanie Cox and their daughter, Nathalie and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Perot, Carl Cornwell, Peanut Carr, David Varnell, Randy Hatten, Tommy Stuart, Chris Strickland and Chris Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers include Roger Cox, Preston Strange and Hunter Strickland.
