Obituary of Louise Thomas Fisher
Funeral services for Louise Thomas Fisher age 98 of Columbia will be held 2:00 PM Sunday December 31, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Louise Thomas Fisher was born on August 29, 1919 and passed from this life on December 29, 2017 at the Oakwoods Nursing Center in Mer Rouge. She was preceded in death by her husband Sherman T. M. Fisher, her brothers Stanley Thomas, Bowen Thomas, and her sister Agatha Vincent. Mrs. Fisher went to work for the United States Selective Service in 1941 at the outbreak of World War II. On a humerous note her first day at work she drafted her husband Sherman and her brother Bowen.She went on to work for selective service for 34 years and retired in 1975 as head of the Shreveport Office and six other offices across North Louisiana at a time whenh not many ladies held such positions with the Federal Government. Mrs. Fisher had many loving friends and what a great mother to be gifted with, her family did love her so much.
She is survived by two sons Larry Thomas Fisher; his children Stacy, Shawna, Shane and Danielle, also many loving grandchildren; her son: Joseph Marion Fisher and his fiancee Kathleen and Josephs son Jaymon.
Pallbearers will be Shane Fisher, Jaymon Etheridge, Larry Fisher, Joseph Fisher, David Anders, and Tyler Anders.
