Obituary of Anna Sue Loflin

Anna Sue Bridgman Loflin died Monday, January 8, 2018, at the Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Columbia, Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Edgar Caraway (Ish) Loflin, Jr, and her parents, Roy Russell Bridgman and Beulah Deatherage Bridgman, longtime residents of Natchez, Mississippi.

Sue was born May 3, 1928, in Cotter, Arkansas, and spent her childhood years moving from oil field to oil field throughout Texas and Oklahoma.  She graduated from Ardmore High School in Oklahoma and soon after moved with her parents to Vicksburg, Mississippi, where she attended All Saints Episcopal College.  In Vicksburg she met and married the love of her life, E. C. Loflin, Jr.

Sue was a very active member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church and active in other community organizations for many years until health problems kept her at home more. 

Sue is survived by her children Patricia Loflin Darden and husband Ronnie, of Columbia, Louisiana, and William Russell Loflin of Walsenberg, Colorado.  She leaves her five grandchildren, Heath Darden, Heather Nadolski, Hunter Darden, Erin Loflin, and Della Loflin, and seven great-grandchildren, Drake and Garret Darden, Chase, Maren Kate, Stella, and Arden Nadolski, Ren Loflin-Myers.  She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be sincerely missed, but is now is in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

There will be a visitation at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, Thursday, January 11, from 5 to 7 pm.  A graveside service will be held Friday, January 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg, Mississippi, under the direction of Riser Funeral Home.   In lieu of flowers please make donations to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 178, Columbia, Louisiana, 71418.

Directions to the gravesite. Proceed onto Lover's Lane from Mission 66 and enter the cemetery. After a 1/4 mile or so you will see a building to the left and a gate to the right. Turn right through the gate and the grave is on the right. There are two blue tents setup there. You can see it from the road.
