Obituary of Monique Dortch

Funeral services for Mrs. Monique Washer Dortch age 89 of Columbia will be held 2pm Friday November 25, 2011 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tommy Basco officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5pm until 8pm. Born Monique Washer on August 11,1922 in Monroe, LA; she passed from this life on Monday November 21, 2011 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Monique was a retired Registered Nurse, and after her retirement she became a sitter to so many who required stay at home healthcare. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Nathan Dortch and by her parents George Thomas Washer and Gertrude Washer. Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Dortch and wife Gayle of Grayson; Johnny Dortch of Bastrop, and Tommy Dortch of Columbia. She also leaves four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
