Obituary of Melba Emmons
Memorial services for Melba Jean Duchesne Emmons, age 53 of Columbia, will be held at 2 PM Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Bethany Baptist Church in Columbia.
Visitation will be Thursday from 12 PM until time of service at Bethany Baptist Church.
Mrs. Emmons was born on January 11, 1958 in Columbia, LA to the union of Ray and Miriam Maxine Duchesne and passed from this life on December 3, 2011. She held many positions through her life including a manager for an apartment complex and cook on a tugboat. Melba was an honest God fearing woman who enjoyed white perch fishing and hunting.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Duchesne.
Survivors include her beloved son, Alvin "Al" Emmons and wife, Kim of Clarks; mother, Maxine Duchesne of Hebert, two brothers: Dolyn Ray "Bubba" Duchesne and wife, Deborah and Randy Duchesne and wife, Peggy both of Columbia, sister, Shelia Duchesne of Monroe, grandchildren: Christopher Ferris and Megan Ferris, nieces: Kimberly Lynn Duchesne, Mendy Lynn Duchesne and Rebecca Lynn Duchesne-Brown, nephews: Randall Duchesne and Tyler Duchesne, great-nieces and great-nephews: Christian Garsee, Daisy May Garsee, Colter Garsee, Aubrey Garsee, Julia Patton, Isaac Brown, Ellieana Brown, Joel Brown, Drake Duschesne and Ella Kate Duchesne and longtime friends: Rene Kirby, Gale Rider and Betty K. Bratton.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Melba Emmons name to Al Emmons or Maxine Duchesne, PO Box 207, Clarks, LA 71415.
