Obituary of Helen M. McDaniel Murphy

Funeral services for Helen H. McDaniel Murphy, age 81, of Winnfield, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 24, 2018 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Larry Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Helen McDaniel Murphy was born March 24, 1936 to the union of John Clark McDaniel and Johnnie Bridges McDaniel in Grayson, Louisiana and she passed from this life on March 21, 2018 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She loved her Council on Aging group, playing Bingo and POKENO. She enjoyed participating in the Senior Olympics. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Woodrow "Jap" McDaniel and Nathan McDaniel; and sister, Arlene McDaniel.

She is survived by her sister, Merlene Mayfield of Bossier, Louisiana and a host of nieces and nephews.
