Obituary of Mildred Alford

Funeral services for Mildred Marie Alford age 89 of Columbia will be held 1pm graveside Monday at the Fellowship Cemetery, west of Columbia, with the Rev. Joel Brackett officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 11am until 12:30pm at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Born Mildred Marie Alford on November 22, 1922 in Caldwell Parish to the union of her parents the late Martin Luther Alford and Evie Dale Owens Alford, she passed from this life on Friday January 6, 2012 at the Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Edna Alford Owens, and her brother Robert James Alford. Survivors include, her sister, Neita Alford Proffer of Columbia; and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Matt Owens, Mark Owens, Marty Sweet, Corey Sweet, Jeremy Moreno, and Bill Proffer.
