Obituary of Doug Bratton

Memorial services for Doug Bratton, 68, of Kelly will be held 2 PM Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Visitaton will be Sunday from 12:00 PM until service time. Doug was born August 20, 1943 to Millard and Colene Bratton in Kelly and he passed from this life on January 28, 2012 at his residence. He worked at T.L. James Construction for 15 years. He worked in the Caldwell Parish school system for 15 years and he was a bar owner for 12 years. He loved his family and was loved by many. He fought an illness for the last 16 years that claimed his life. He was a fighter. He was a fun loving person that enjoyed talking to people. He loved to work and enjoyed going to auctions. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stillborn sister: Shirley Faye Bratton. He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Evelyn Bratton of Kelly; daughters: Carla Bratton and Kellie Bratton, both of Kelly; four brothers: Delain Bratton, Rodger Bratton, Larry Bratton, and Paul Bratton; sister: Wanda Sue Ford; three grandchildren: Dustin Smith, Cheyenne James, and Kala Reitzell; great-grandchild: Dustin Scott Smith.
