Obituary of Artis Leslie

A Memorial Service for Mr. Artis Leslie age 85 of Columbia will be held 11:00am Tuesday February 7, 2012 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev.Robert Sheridan officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10am until time of service at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, Columbia. Artis Leslie was born on October 11, 1926 at Farmerville, LA to the union of his parents Mack Leslie and Mattie Cobb Leslie. He passed from this life on Monday January 30, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and by all of his siblings. Mr. Leslie was a retired log truck operator. Survivors include his beloved wife, Margie Lark Leslie of Columbia; his son, Gary Joe Leslie of Richmond, Virginia; two daughters, Martha Canada and husband John of Columbia; and Shirley Kidd and husband Jessie of El Dorado, Arkansas; and eight grandchildren, John Canada, Jr., Margie Canada, Joseph Canada, Sharon Canada, Jessie Kidd, Sr., Gary Kidd, Lynn Kidd, and Jessie Kidd, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Joseph Canada, John Canada, Jessie Kidd, Jessie Kidd, Sr; Belefonte Canada, and Jason Canada.
