Obituary of III Funderburk

Funeral services for Vern J Funderburk,III of Dodson, LA will be held 1pm Sunday March 4, 2012 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Father James Nellikunnel officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery at Clarks. Visitation will be on Saturday March 3, 2012 at the Riser Funeral Home in Columbia from 4 to 8pm, and on Sunday from 10am until time of service. Vern J. Funderburk,III was born on July 26,1940 at Winnsboro, LA to the union of his parents , the late Vern J. Funderburk, Jr. and Ruth Humble Funderburk. He passed from this life on Thursday March 1, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.Mr. Funderburk served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1964 as a Medical Laboratory Tech, and did tropical medicine research in southeast Asia. Survivors include his son, Vern J Funderburk,IV and wife Pamela of Port Allen, LA; and a step daughter Lisa Vilo of Texas; two sisters, Jan Manchester of Florida and Michelle Bradford of Austin, Texas; and three grandchildren.
