Obituary of Aubrey Peterson

Aubrey Doyle Peterson, age 71 of Grayson, was born June 4, 1940 in Vienna, LA to the union of Doyle and Lillie Moody Peterson. He went home to be with his Lord on March 4, 2012 at Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport. His life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Bobby Rodrigue and Rev. Mike Green officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery west of Clarks. Visitation will be Friday, March 9, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM until service at the funeral home. Aubrey was retired from LaDOTD and LRWA. He previously served on the parish hospital board, as an alderman of Clarks, on the LRWA board, and with various churches. He was presently a member of Olla New Life Assembly of God and he was President of Old Bethel Hunting Club. Aubrey was a very special friend, father, and husband and will be sorely missed, especially by his wife, sons, grandchildren, and sister. Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents; son: Preston Peterson; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Rev. Lorey and Hattie Lowery. Survivors include his wife: Lenora Lowery Peterson of Grayson; sons: Cliff Peterson and his wife Janis of Swartz; Tom Peterson of Dundee, Scotland; Jeff Peterson of San Antonio, Texas; sister: Mona LaDell Dortch; grandchildren: Heather Spillers, Kimberly Wyatt, Austin Peterson, Davey Peterson, and Tiffany Peterson; five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Clif Murphy, Ken Terry, Bobby Bolds, Martin Higginbotham, Chris Brunson, DeWayne Lowery, and Eddie Krueger. Honorary Pallbearers will be the CEO and all past and present staff and board of LRWA.
