Obituary of Ancel McGuffee

Funeral services for Ancel Lee McGuffee, age 90 of Enterprise, will be held at 10 AM Friday, March 16, 2012 from the sanctuary of New Ouachita Baptist Church in Enterprise with Bro. James King officiating. Interment will follow at Rosefield Cemetery in Rosefield. Visitation will be Thursday evening at New Ouachita Baptist Church from 4 PM to 8 PM. Mr. McGuffee was born on August 3, 1921 in Rosefield, LA to the union of Cary Albert MCGuffee and Dolly Sones McGuffee and went to meet his Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Arbor Lake Nursing Home in Farmerville. Ancel was a good christian and Deacon at New Ouachita Baptist Church. He was a member of the Harrisonburg Mason's Lodge. He was a good father and grandfather and a loving man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruby Lewis McGuffee; two sons: Baby McGuffee and Darryl McGuffee, three brothers: Zane McGuffee, Ronald McGuffee and Oma McGuffee, sister, Inez McGuffee Lewis and two grandchildren: Dean MCGuffee and Tori Thames. Survivors include his son, Cary McGuffee and wife, Krista of Sterlington, two daughters: Sharon Isonhood and husband, Earl of Enterprise and Rita Andrews and husband, Max of Jena, two sisters: Audrey McVay of Enterprise and Amy Ferrington and husband, Lloyd of Monroe, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of New Ouachita Baptist Church.
