Obituary of O'Ree Gore

Funeral services for O'Ree Johnston Gore, age 80 of Columbia, will be held at 11 AM Sunday, March 25, 2012 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Chaplain Roni Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Sunday morning from 9 AM until time of service. Mrs. Gore was born on January 5, 1932 in Grayson, LA to the union of Charley Johnston and Della Mae Wright Johnston and passed to her Heavenly home on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. She worked for 41 years in the Caldwell Parish School system as a teacher and guidance counselor. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Billy Ray Gore, two sons: Jay Gore and Ray Gore all of Columbia, two grandchildren: Tony Jay Gore of Deer Park, TX and Stephen Gore of CA, one great-grandson, Alexander James Gore and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Crain, Sloan Wyles, Chris Fredericks, Logan Cooper, Butch Hatten and Tony Childress. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve May and Glenn Gilmore.
