Obituary of Majorie Parker

Funeral services for Marjorie Walker Parker, age 88 of Urania, will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, March 29, 2012 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. David McGuffee officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Pineville. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Olla from 5 PM to 9 PM. Mrs. Parker was born on December 5, 1923 in Sikes, LA to the union of George Edward Walker and Lizzie Campbell Walker and passed from this life on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Woods Haven Nursing Care in Pollock. She served as Town Clerk of Olla for numerous years and Director of Olla Housing Authority. She was a good cook and seamstress. A favorite patient of Hardtner Medical Clinic and Haven Woods Nursing Care and she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Theron "Ted" Parker, two grandsons: Steven Wilmore and Eric Mauterer, four brothers and four sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Mildred Wilmore (Johnnie) and Carolyn Stagg (Paul), three grandchildren: Nancy Lachney (Ben Ross), Deborah DeSoto (Brent Rhinehart) and Chris Mauterer, granddaughter-in-law, Debra Wilmore Rowles (Kirk), step-grandaughter, Lorie Stagg Jacobs (Rick), great-grandchildren: Christie Dauzat (David), Randall Wilmore (Kayla), Kayla Wiley (Tyler Williams), Heather Wiley, Johnnie Ray Wiley, Amanda Perry, Jarvis Perry and Taylor Mauterer, chosen great-grandchildren: Jade Ross and Slayter Ross, great-great-grandchildren: Braydyn Williams, Cayden Dauzat, and Konner Wilmore and step-great-great-grandson, Brian Dauzat. Pallbearers will be Slater Ross, Kevin Salter, John Miron Parker, Doc Parker and Tyler Williams.
