Obituary of Jessie Johnson Young

Funeral services for Jessie Johnson Young, age 76, of Olla, will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Johnnie Phillips and Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Olla. Jessie was born October 9, 1935 to Rev. John J. and Mary Helen Young in Kelly and he passed from this life on April 16, 2012 at his residence in Olla. He served his country in the Air Force for eight years. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He had his private pilot's license and he loved to fly. He was preceded in death by three sons: Paul Charles Young, Clay Leon Young, and Jesse Ray Young; his parents; brother: John Jackson Young. He is survived by his wife of forty nine years: Wanda Young; two sons: James Young and his wife Ellen; Jessie Young, Jr. and his wife Cathy; two daughters: Tammie Moore and her husband Mike; Amy Sistrunk and her husband Tracy; seven sisters: Helen Jackson and her husband Dennis; Laverne Roberson and her husband Wayne; Vivian Townley; Delores McAdams and her husband Buddy; Mary Warner and her husband Lunsford; Johnnie Boutwell and her husband Gary; Sharon Mitchell and her husband Ronnie; fourteen grandchildren: Shane, Bess, and Eli Young; Dawn Fontenot, Brant, Christopher, and Trista Young; Zachary and Clayton Moore; Nick, Patrick, Jessie, and Jacob Young; Joshua Sistrunk; three step-grandchildren: Jessica, Amanda, and Sam; fourteen great-grandchilden; numerous nieces and nephews.
