Obituary of Linda Comeaux

Funeral services for Linda S. Comeaux, age 71 of Olla will be held 10AM Tuesday May 15, 2012 from the sanctuary of the Urania First Baptist Church with Bro. Bo Prather and Bro. Jerry Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Visitation will be on Monday evening May 14, from 5PM to 9PM at the church in Urania. Linda Sue Comeaux was born on August 17, 1940 in New Orleans to the union of her parents Daniel Smalling and Arvilla Lucille Moncrief Smalling, and passed from this life on Sunday May 13, 2012 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following an extended illness. Linda was a devoted Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Urania, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Her passion was teaching Bible studies and child evangelism. She had a great love for her friends and family and loved to sew. She was co-owner and manager of the Olla Fabric Shop, and was employed by the LaSalle Parish School Board, where she worked at the Olla Elementary School and LaSalle High School. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of the Haven Nursing Center, and Citizens Medical Center for their care during her illness. A special thanks to Dr. Robert Connell, Dr. Russell Cummings, and the Emergency Room Physicians and staff for their excellent care. Survivors include her husband of fifty three years W.C. Comeaux of Olla; her son, Danny Comeaux and wife Laurel of Olla; her daughter Kim Loe and husband Ronnie of Jena. She also leaves her grandchildren Daniel Comeaux and wife Maddie of Dallas, Texas; and Britni Vise and husband Jeremy of Sibley; and one great-grandchild, Nathan Vise. Pallbearers include Kevin Daughtery, Ben Wilson, Ron Skinner, Gene Steen, Glen Henderson, and William Moody. Honorary pallbearers include Joe Wilson, Don McCleery, Jeff Roberts, Bob Campo, and Neal Allen. In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Urania First Baptist Church Building Fund, or to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
