Obituary of Louis "Rick" Richmond

Funeral services for Louis Aaron "Rick" Richmond will be held at 2 PM Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Fellowship Baptist Church west of Columbia with Bro. Tyler Hurst, Bro. Floyd Duchesne, and Bro. Brian Rankin officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday starting at 4 PM at the church. Rick was born May 12, 1938 to Herbert and Bertha Boyd Richmond in Columbia and he passed from this life on May 23, 2012 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was retired from the Army Corps of Engineer as a park ranger. He was a member of the Gideons and he was a Deacon at Fellowship Baptist Church. He served his country in the Air Force. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved his family and his church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Laura Richmond Latapie; brother-in-law: Milton Latapie; special friend: Charles Alger. He is survived by his wife of forty seven years: Sandra Watts Richmond of Columbia; son: Michael Richmond and his wife Amy of Roanoke, VA; daughter: Marcia Johnson and her husband Darryl of Calhoun; sister: Carolyn Escalon and her husband Manuel of Columbia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Darryl Johnson, Manuel Escalon, Mark Escalon, Gary Watts, David Ainsworth, Leon Scott, Benny Lee, and Jarrod Masoner.
