Obituary of Hardy Wells

Funeral services for Hardy E. Wells, age 90, of West Monroe will be held 2pm Sunday May 27, 2012, graveside at the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson with Rev. Sammy Redden officiating. Services are under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Sunday at Riser Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 1:45 pm. Hardy E. Wells was born on January 14, 1922 at Columbia, LA to the union of his parents John Ivy Wells and Rachel O'Neal Wells. He passed from this life on May 25, 2012 at the St. Francis Medical Center, Downtown Campus, in Monroe. Mr. Wells was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II .He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monroe and was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of sixty five years, Venila Darden Wells, and eleven brothers and sisters. Survivors include his son, John E. Wells and wife Nancy of West Monroe, three grand- children, Renee Johnson, John E. Wells, Jr. and wife Melissa; and Bert Cherry and wife Micleah; four great-grand daughters, one great-grand son; and one great-great grand son. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
