Obituary of Doris Shelton-Shahan

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Faye Beck Shelton-Shahan, age 76 of West Monroe, formerly of Columbia, will be held at 10 AM Thursday, May 31, 2012 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Brian Rankin officiating. Interment will follow at Georgetown Cemetery in Georgetown, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 PM to 9 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Mrs. Shahan was born on July 29, 1935 in Simms Community, LA to the union of William Oliver Beck and Emma Peters Beck and went to her Heavenly home on Monday, May 28, 2012 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph Shelton and sister, Lorraine Maddox. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Donnie Shelton and wife, Chrissy of Singapore; two daughters: Debra Steen and husband, Johnnie of West Monroe and Sissy Bond and husband, Brad of Gonzales; three sisters: Sybil Barron and husband, Billy of Deville, Theresa Rhymes and husband, James of Pineville and Catherine Ann Frost and husband, Dennis of Alexandria; seven grandchildren: Alisha Wells (Herbert), Paul Steen (Stacy), Justin Steen (Annie), Bethanie Shepherd (Jay), Kellie Ory (Jacob), Cammie Holloway (Gene) and Candie White (Sonny), great-grandchildren: Robbie Wells, Seth Wells, Aubrey Steen, Leah Steen, Kayden Ory, Emma Ory, Austin Holloway, Emily Holloway, Courtney Roberts, Nathan Roberts and one to arrive in September 2012 and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Paul Steen, Justin Steen, Jay Shepherd, Herbert Wells, Brad Bond and Johnnie Steen. The honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Ory.
