Obituary of Chlotield Phillips

Funeral services for Mrs. Chlotield Dunn Phillips, age 90 of Grayson, will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM at Cross Roads Cemetery in Grayson. Rev. Tommy Nelson will be officiating both services. Visitation will be Monday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia from 5 PM to 7 PM. Mrs. Phillips was born on April 16, 1922 in Caldwell Parish, LA and went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. She was a retired registered nurse. A member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, but later attended Grace Baptist Church. She was a devoted christian with a firm faith in God and Jesus Christ. She raised five children and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Dunn; husband, William B. Phillips, Sr.; daughter, Sandra Hodges Lucius and sister, Myrtis Batson,. Survivors include her children: Danny Hodges and wife, Debbie of Columbia; David Campbell Hodges and wife, Mandy of Baton Rouge, Debbie Nelson and husband, Henry Lee of Grayson and Alice Hodges Lindsay of Pineville; grandchildren: Tammy Kay Sutherland, Cynthia Lucius McGrew, Adrienne Sage Hodges Steele, Dara Hodges, Shane Nelson, Nicole Escalon, Kris Lindsay, Jennifer George and Bryan "River" Lindsay; three sisters: Rachal Cruse of Sterlington, Ethel Dodson and husband, Dwight of Decatur, TX and Kay Ellerbe of Columbia; great-grandchildren: Joshua Lewis Sutherland, Brittney Nole Sutherland, Celesta McGrew, Meagan George, Gabe George, Ananda Lindsay, Dustin Nelson, Katelynn Nelson, Quinn Escalon and Kash Escalon, her longtime friend and caregiver, Mary Free and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for the services will be Brett Sutherland, Robert Blackwell, David Hodges and Kris Lindsay. Pallbearers for the graveside will be Danny Hodges, Henry Lee Nelson, Shane Nelson, Micheal Steele, Dustin Nelson and Stephen Escalon. Honorary pallbearer will Kyle Stringer. The family would like to say thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Citizens Medical Center, Dr. Brian Smith and her caregiver for all their concern and care for Mrs. Phillips.
