Obituary of Marie Poole

Funeral services for Marie Slay Poole age 76 of Olla , will be held 10 AM Thursday July 19, 2012 from the Olla chapel of Riser Funeral Home, with Rev. James Dowd and Rev. David Poole officiating. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery, at Olla. Visitation will be Wednesday July 18, 2012 ; 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home in Olla located at 4823 Main Street 165. Born Myrtis Marie Slay on November 22, 1935 in Olla, to the union of her parents Chester Cleo Slay and Gladys Irene Lockhart Slay; she passed from this life on Monday July 16, at the Avalon Nursing Center in Monroe, following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents,her good friend, Many Brown, and was a member of the Standard Baptist Church in Olla. Mrs. Poole was a loving mother and grandmother, and was loved by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed, and fondly remembered. Left to cherish her memory , her daughter Lennie Williams and husband Taylor of West Monroe; her son Edward Earl Poole and Frances of Olla; her beloved grandchildren, Chad Poole and wife Christie, Justin Poole and wife Linzi, Mandy Nelson and husband Steve, and Scott Williams and wife Jessica, and her great-grandchildren, Cade Poole, Cassie Poole, Adleigh Poole, and Austin Nelson. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The Poole Family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to her special care giver, Arthena Campbell, who went beyond the call of duty, to care for and love, their mother and grand-mother. They would also like to thank her great-grandson, Austin, for the attention he gave Mrs. Poole by making sure her bird feeders were filled every week, and for the love he gave her.
