I just wanted to share a couple of stories about my cousin when he was a little boy. He was the cutest little red-head you ever saw and had the spirit to go with it. He was determined and tough and was his own little man whether anyone liked it or not. One day, when he was about 4 years old, he decided he wasn't going to wait for Granny to cut that watermelon, so he just went right over to the knife drawer and reached his hand up and over into the drawer and pulled out a big knife. He got that knife taken away fast and it was a little whippin that he acted like didn't hurt him one bit. I think it was that same summer when we were visiting (my mom is LaVerne Strange, Isom's aunt) that Isom got another whippin, this time for peeing his name on the side of the barn. He had to wash it off. Good thing he had a short name! Good times in the hot Louisiana summer. I miss him. I hope God has some special assignments for him in heaven, since it might be better to keep him busy.
