Obituary of Sr. Duchesne

Funeral services for Roy Lee Duchesne, Sr ; age 68 of Rayville, LA will be held 2pm Tuesday August 21, 2012 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Sellers, Rev. Floyd Duchesne, and Rev. Shane Warren officiating . Interment will follow in the Hebert Cemetery at Hebert, LA. Visitation will be on Monday August 20 from 5pm until 9pm at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, Columbia. Roy Lee Duchesne, Sr. was born on July 3, 1944 at Hebert, LA to the union of his parents Clyde Duchesne and Eula Bowden Duchesne. He passed from this life on Saturday August 18, 2012 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Clyde Duchesne, Jr. , Robert Duchesne, and Thomas Duchesne. Mr. Duchesne was a carpenter and Journeyman. It might be noted that he was "Last of a Dying Breed". He was a member of the Woolen Lake Church of God. Left to cherish his memory, his son Roy L. Duchesne, Jr. and his wife Michelle Duchesne of Rayville; his grandchildren, Alishia McDonald, Elaine McDonald, Meagan Duchesne, Morgan Duchesne, and Kody Carrol; two brothers, Rev. Floyd Duchesne of Monroe, Pete Duchesne of Mobile, Alabama; and his sister Evelyn Hill of Monroe; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Trey Duchesne, Tommy Duchesne, Jamie Wiggins, Reggie Duchesne, Bubba Duchesne, and Kevin Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Washington, Chad Coglahn, and Brian Jones.
