Obituary of Michael Woods

Funeral services for Michael Woods, age 17, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Pete McCarty and Bro. Jimmy Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at Holum Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Michael was born September 20, 1995 in Monroe and he passed from this life on October 6, 2012. He was a Junior at Caldwell Parish High School and he was a huge Saints fan. He was preceded in death by a cousin and grandparents. He survived by his mother: China Telano of Monroe; father: Dennis Woods of Monroe; dad: Heath Calhoun of Grayson; step-father: Michael Shirley of Monroe; step-mother: Ruby Calhoun of Grayson; three brothers: Heath Calhoun, Jr., Hayden Calhoun, and John Mark Calhoun, all of Grayson; sister: Baylee Calhoun of Grayson; grandmother: Terry White of Columbia; grandfather: Bubba Calhoun of Copenhagen; grandparents: Allen and Vicki Froust of Houston; great-grandparents: Savell and Carolyn Norris of Chatham; great-granparents: Waymon and Tilda Calhoun;five uncles: Jeff Waggoner of West Monroe, Jacob Patterson of Monroe, Andon Calhoun of Orlando,William Calhoun of Florida, and Robert Buffington of Crossett; two aunts: Crystal Waggoner of West Monroe and Angie Buffington of Crossett. Pallbearers will be Drew White, Dustin Head, Dylan Smith, Austin Smith, Clayton Spires, Phillip Shelton, Jake Bennett, Ryan Cruse, Colton Thiels, Piper Barton, and Devon Murphy.
