Obituary of Dorothy Slaughter

Dorothy Upshaw Slaughter, age 91, of Ball, Louisiana passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 in Franklin, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Hector Eugene Slaughter, her grandson, Johnny Slaughter, as well as her many siblings. A devoted Christian, she and her husband were an important part of the Louisiana Gideons, as well as ardent supporters of Christians Sharing Christ, a missionary organization. She is survived by her four children and spouses - Mickey and Patty Slaughter, John and Sharyn Slaughter, Steve Slaughter, and Mike and Cindy Slaughter Lewis as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside service for family and close friends will be held Thursday, November 15th at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ball, Louisiana at two p.m. Mrs. Slaughter was the sister of the late, Mrs. Ruby Upshaw Riser, co-founder of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Pallbearers will be Mickey Slaughter, John Slaughter, Mike Lewis, Michael Slaughter, Jake Slaughter and Michael Lewis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christians Sharing Christ at P.O.
