Obituary of Israel Guerrero

Funeral services for Israel Guerrero, age 78, of Columbia will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 3, 2012 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Roger McClanahan, Jr. officiating. Roger McClanahan, Sr. will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Burroughs Garden of Memories Cemetery in Columbia. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Israel was born April 26, 1934 to Juan and Consuelo Cruz Guerrero in Yorktown, TX and he passed from this life on December 31, 2012 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church in Hebert. He was a well respected member of the community who was well known, well liked, and well loved. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Johnny Guerrero and Frank Guerrero; grand-daughter: Jennifer Stapleton. He is survived by his wife: Nan Guerrero; children: Javier and Eloisa Guerrero, Ritchie and Jill Guerrero, Estella and Hector Gomez, Roger and Olga McClanahan, Mark and Phyliss McClanahan, Terry and Patsy McClanahan, Karen McClanahan, sisters: Magdalena and Gorgonio Martinez, Donna and Eugene Cruz, grandchildren: Rudy and Rhonda Guerrero, Monica and Marvin G. Bailey, Angelica Guerrero, Tyler Guerrero, Olivia Guerrero, Blake Guerrero, Mayra Gomez, Jonathan Gomez, Dorina and Andrew Ramirez, Elice Guerrero, Todd and Donna Gregory, Jared and Nikki Townsend, Terry McClanahan, Roger, Jr. and Angela McClanahan, Sam Simmons, Damien Walswoth, Jennifer and Elvis Price, Jessica and Wade Wisenor, Mark, Jr. and Valerie McClanahan; twenty one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Rudy Guerrero, Damien Walsworth, Marvin Bailey, Tyler Guerrero, Jonathan Gomez, Mark Timothy McClanahan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Drew Keahey, V.H. Osteen, Wilbur Rucker, Charlie Mac Rowland, Haskell Harris, Dennis Rowland, Jay Franton, and Alvin Berry.
