Obituary of Billy Gore

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Billy Ray Gore, age 83, of Columbia will be held 11 am Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson, under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.Rev. Ron Lowe will be officiating. The family visitation will be on Thursday January 17, from 9 am to 10:40am at the funeral home. Billy Ray Gore was born on July 27, 1929 in Caldwell Parish, to the union of his parents, the late Willie Lee Gore and Mary Lou Gibson Gore. He passed from this life on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following an extended illness. Mr. Gore was a member of the Baptist Faith, and retired with Olin Craft Industries in West Monroe. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mattie O'Ree Gore, and his brothers and sisters, Freddie Gore, Myrtle Gore, James Gore, and Flora Armond Gore. He is survived by two sons, Jay Gore and Ray Gore, both of Columbia; his last remaining brother, Robert Glenn Gore of Pollock; two grandsons, Tony J. Gore of Baytown, Texas and Stephen Gore of California; his great-grandson, Alexander James Gore and his great-grand daughter, Jessica Twlya Gore of Baytown, Texas. Pallbearers will be Officers from the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Department.
