Obituary of Anna Ruth Pitman
Anna Ruth Pitman 1929 - 2013 Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. Proverbs 31: 10 -12 (KJV) Anna Ruth (White) Pitman went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday January 15, 2013; at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. She was born on August 13,1931 at Fondale, LA to her parents ,William Ruffin White and Louise Ratcliff White. In her lifetime, Ruth served her community through her work at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia, where she was an Admissions Manager, and also in the work of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; at her church, Rosefield Baptist Church, Rosefield, LA. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elton Lee Pitman, her parents, and her daughter, Ruth Ann Carter; and her brothers, Bill White and Charles White. Ruth was loved by everyone who knew her, and will be greatly missed. Left to cherish her memory, her daughters, Linda McGee and husband Mike of West Monroe, LA and Sharon Roberts of Cabot, AR; her sister Donna Gregory of Bonham, TX; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Honored to be serving as pallbearers will be Mike McCartney, Scott Winn , Dustin Craighead, Aaron Schmidt, Lee Gregory, and Chris Barnhill. Honorary pallbearers include G.L. Cruse, Mike McGee and her grandsons. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2013 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home, with the Rev. David McGuffee and Bro. Stacy Pitman officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17, at the Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, from 4:30 pm until 8:00pm .
