Obituary of Kevin Thompson

Funeral services for Kevin Thompson, age 47, of Urania, will be held at 10:00 AM, Sunday January 27, 2013 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Laverl Shell officiating. The obituary will be read by Karla Pfeifer. Interment will follow at Urania Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday starting at 1:00 PM at the church. Kevin was born August 31, 1965 to Jimmy D. and Joy Lynn Thompson in Snowflake, Arizona and he passed from this life on January 24, 2013 at his residence in Urania. He worked in the logging woods for most of his life. He was an avid LSU fan and a huge sports fan. His favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys. In college sports, he rooted for the North Carolina Tar Heels and was a huge Michael Jordan fan. The Chicago Bulls was his favorite NBA team and Tony Stewart was his favorite Nascar driver. He loved spending time with his family and was an all around great guy. He was preceded in death by his father: Jimmy D. Thompson; brother-in-law: Paul Breland. He is survived by his three sons: Eddie Deloy Thompson and his wife Amy of Saline; Charlie Michael Thompson and his fiance Rachel of Saline; Levi Thornton-McGuffee and his wife Natalie of Olla; daughter: Morgan Layne Lafferty of Holum; two sisters: Cindy Richey and her husband Elson Ray of Manifest; Melanie Breland of Urania; four grandchildren: Conner Michael Thompson, Ryker Deloy Thompson, Bryar Mixson Thornton- McGuffee, and Braylee Thornton-McGuffee; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kevin "Kebo" Howell, John Boy Morris, Roy "Boo Boo" Lee, Gage Taylor, Leroy Westbrooks, and Carol "Tumbleweed" Pennington. Honorary Pallbearers will be Elson Ray Richey, Tyler Ray Richey, Lowell Shell, Carlton Tucker, and Donnis Westbrooks.
