Obituary of Glenda May

Funeral services for Glenda B. Noland May age 67 of Grayson will be held 10 am Friday June 10, 2011 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Baker and Rev. Eddie Riley officiating. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery at Grayson. The May Family will receive visitors on Thursday June 9 from 4 to 9pm at Riser Funeral Home located at 7131 U S Highway 165 in Columbia. Born on October 13, 1943 at Epps, LA to the union of James Christopher Noland and Velma Maydell Sandifer, she passed from this life on Wednesday June 8, 2011 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers. She was a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church at Clarks and was a retired Residential Service Director with the Columbia Developmental Center after serving thirty three years. Presently she was employed at the Grayson Elementary School working with the Reading Program. Survivors include: One son: Matt May of Grayson. One daughter: Donna May Williams of Grayson. Her sister: Wanda McGuffee Mills of Jena. Her beloved grandchildren: Cody Parr and wife Sabra, Logan Williams, and Megan May. Three great-grandchildren: Levi Jase Parr, Calli Grace Baum, and one on the way; Kodi Belle Parr. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Carter, Logan Dortch, David Carroll, Brad McGuffee, Bart McGuffee, and Brent McGuffee.
