Obituary of Vivian May

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Vivian Rester May, age 92 of Grayson, will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Bruce McGee officiating and Terry Johnston delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Hickory Springs Cemetery in Jackson Parish. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mrs. May was born on December 30, 1918 in Caldwell Parish to the union of Jeff Rester and Lula Fisher Rester and passed from this life on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Haven Nursing Center. She was a member of Old Union Baptist Church in Grayson. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Waymon W. May, son; Johnny Wayne May and son-in-law; Jack D. Johnston. Survivors include her two daughters: Dewanna Johnston of Columbia and Dianne Johnson and husband, F.L. of Winnfield, six grandchildren: Terry Johnston and wife, Kandy, Tonyah Meredith and husband, Lynn of Grayson, Jeff Johnson, Steve Johnson, Misty Wilkins and husband, Paul and David May and wife, Donna, five great-grandchildren: Ethan Meredith, Kade Johnston, Cole Johnston, Stihl Smith and Brady Wayne May and special caregiver; Sue Moore. Pallbearers will be F.L. Johnson, Steven Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Lynn Meredith, Terry Johnston, David May, Steve May and Ronnie McIlwain. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. May's great-grandchildren: Kade Johnston, Stihl Smith, Ethan Meredith, Cole Johnston and Brady Wayne May.
