Obituary of Miron Ainsworth
Funeral services for Miron James Ainsworth, age 83 of Clarks, will be 2 PM Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Keith Roberts and Rev. Christopher Dickinson officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 6PM to 9PM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia and again Thursday from noon until time of service. Mr. Ainsworth was born on November 21, 1925 in Columbia to the union of James Bennie and Bessie Mae Cupples Ainsworth and passed from this life on Monday, June 15, 2009 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. Miron retired with LA Industries as a dragline operator. He is a veteran with the US Army having served during WWII and participating in the battle of Northern France. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter; Barbara Ann Ainsworth Gorden, and his siblings; Dollie Ainsworth, Avis Varnell, Bennie Ainsworth, Ike Ainsworth, Lawrence Ainsworth, Pate Ainsworth and IB Ainsworth. Survivors include his son; Marion Ainsworth, Jr. of Jackson, LA, two daughters; Betty Patton of Calhoun and Bobbie Whitehurst of Russellville, AR, two brothers; Marvin Ainsworth of Temple, TX and Hugh Ainsworth of West Monroe, two sisters; Alma Vestal and Lillie Stone both of Columbia, twelve grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be James Patton, Henry Davis, Jr., Randy Peters, Marion "Bo" Ainsworth, III, Clay Gorden and Lance Gorden. Honorary pallbearer is Buddy Thornhill.
