Obituary of Pinkey Lasyone

Services for Mr. Pinkey W. Lasyone, 85, of Columbia, will be Thursday, July 2, 2009 from Banks Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Eddie Riley and Bro. Mike Green officiating. Interment will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday July 1, 2009 from 5pm to 9pm at the Church. Mr. Lasyone was born on January 29, 1924, in Winnfield, LA. to the union of Jewel and Alice Bratton Lasyone and passed from this life on Monday, June 29, 2009 in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Alexandria. He was a long time deckhand on the duty ferry and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII. Mr. Lasyone received the purple heart . Survivors include his wife Mrs. Ruby Lasyone of Columbia; Daughters, Wyvone Powe of Columbia, Shirley Barnes of Baytown, TX., Patricia Lasyone of Columbia; Son, Thurman Lasyone of Huntington, TX.; Brothers, Penny Waylon Lasyone of Monroe, Earl Lasyone and Burl Lasyone both of Dodson; Sisters, Patsy Jewel Lasyone of Idaho, Grace Acreman of Grayson, and Nita Lasyone of Winnfield. 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Taylor Roberson, Brandy White, Gary Cassels, Wade Barnes, Shannon White, and Phillip White. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Powe and Larry Cupid.
