Obituary of Wallace Henslee
Funeral services for Wallace Gordon "Son" Henslee, age 81, of Kelly will be held 2PM Sunday August 9, 2009 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Goodman officiating.Full Masonic services will follow. Interment will follow in the Lowe Cemetery at Kelly. Born on August 20, 1927 in Caldwell Parish, his parents the late Thomas Lester Henslee and Eva Marie Cruse Henslee taught him the value of work ethic early in life. He worked in his fathers lumber mill and went on to have Henslee's Lumber Mill and devoted some sixty plus years to the timber industry. He was a United States Army World War II Veteran, a member of the Grand Masonic Lodge at Clarks, and a member of the Holum Baptist Church. He leaves behind his legacy and the family he loved so much: His wife of sixty-one years: Helen Jean (Smith) Henslee of Kelly. His son:David Earl Henslee and wife Ginger of Columbis. His daughter: Carlene (Henslee) Stinson and husband Steve of Ball. Sister: Joyce Marie Fairbanks of Vidalia. His brother: Larry Henslee and his wife Pauline of Sicily Island. His grandchildren: Eva Marie (Henslee) Schulte and husband Matt; Jennifer(White} Jones and husband David; Ashley(White) Kelone and husband Brandon; and Michael V. White His great- grandchildren: Brayden William Jones, Maddox David Schulte, and Matthew Adam Schulte. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers will be: Randy Hatten, Willis Martin, Dr. John "Rusty" Fairbanks, David Jones, Michael White, and Matt Schulte.Honorary pallbearers are cousins including Reginold Wycoff, H.C. Peck,Jr. and Faye (T Model) Thurman.
