Obituary of Margie Kees

Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Lee Roberts Hudson Kees, age 82 of Urania, will be 2 PM Friday, November 20, 2009 from the sanctuary of Urania First Baptist Church in Urania with Bro. Bo Prather officiating. Interment will follow at Pinehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening at the church from 5 PM to 9 PM. Mrs. Kees was born in Mangham to the union of Carl Franklin and Laura Cheek Roberts and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield. Margie was a member of Urania First Baptist Church where was a longtime Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband; Carl Hudson, second husband; Otto Kees, daughter; Laura Jean Hudson Thompson, step-daughter; Sarah Kees Alwine and three brothers: Claude Roberts, Huey Roberts and Doug Roberts. Survivors include her daughter; Carole Hudson Bedwell and husband, Thomas of Denham Springs, her "Becky"; Becky Bratton and husband, David of Urania, son-in-law; Rev. Eddie Thompson of Jena, step-son-in-law; Nevin Alwine of Jacksonville, FL, brother; Carey, five sisters: Robbie, Dorothy, Diane, Pat and Lou, five step-granddaughters, one step-grandson and many step-great-grandchildren. She loved and was loved by her many nieces and nephews, but especially, Martha, Jo and Melissa who took care of her during her last days and her other loved ones which are too numerous to list. Pallbearers will be Johnny Fannin, David Cotton, Tim Bratton, Wayne Corley, Steve Lindsey and David Beard. Honorary pallbearers will be David Bratton and Douglas Schultz. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Laura Jean Hudson Thompson Christian Education Building Fund at Sanctuary Family Worship Center, PO Box 2881, Jena, LA 71342.
