Neil and I met Ricky when he came up to visit David & Maurice. I recall taking him to Olde Town Alexandria. He was a warm and generous spirit. We know most of the Fisher-Cottingham family only through Maurice, but Ricky we actually knew. He was a delight. My thoughts are with you. MaryAnna

My parents and I have known Ricky for 18 years, as have friends Michael, Clark, Fran, Lyn, Enzo, Bill and Joe. I have talked with each of his friends and, to a person, all who knew him recall with affection his unforgettable Southern drawl, wonderful tales, great sense of humor, kindness and charm. We will all cherish his memory for the rest of our days and are with you in spirit. David Schairer

Ricky was a great guy. I always enjoyed being around Ricky. He gave more to the community than he got back but that was Ricky. I finished school with Ricky and always had a good laugh when he was around. Only time will make the pain go away. But Ricky's memory will live on forever. God bless the family.

...to my friend, I know you can see this as clearly as I remember our last time together. Remember we were in the cafeteria at St. Francis. You were never far from my thoughts. When I thought of nursing school, I thought of Ricky. You were my inspiration. I am wounded to hear of your plight as I am sure your loved ones are even more deeply wounded. There was no other like you. The mold only held together for the one of a kind that you are!!! I will see you in the "over yonder" where ever that may be for the two of us...

Ricky was a pleasure to work with and brought happiness to everyone around him. I never saw him get angry or loose his temper and he was always patient with his patients and coworkers even the green ones that he graciously took under his wings and nurtured. He will surely be missed and definately was an asset to his choosen career path of nursing. And I am a better person for knowing him.
