Obituary of Fannie Coleman

Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie (Melton) Coleman, age 90 of Olla, will be held 2 PM Friday, December 4, 2009 from the Olla Chapel of Riser Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Brown and Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 5 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Fannie Clyde Melton Coleman was born on February 13, 1919 at Pacton, LA to the union of her parents Ben "Walker" Melton and Viola "Voilie" (Howell) Melton. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Henry Stokes Coleman, Jr. and by two brothers: Wolfard "W.A." Melton and Lynn Melton, also three sisters: Charlotte McFarland, Mary Thompson and Nancy Sledge. Survivors include: Three sons: James Coleman and wife, Margaret of Urania, LA, John Coleman and wife, Brenda of New Hampshire and Rob Coleman and wife, Sue of Franklinton, LA, sister: Bobbie Tullos of Winnfield, LA, brother: Phil Melton of South Dakota. Grandchildren: Philip and Melinda Coleman, Ken and Heather Coleman, Robin and Shane Caldwell, Leah and John Lentz, Lori Coleman, Todd Coleman and Hannah Coleman. Great-grandchildren: Daniel Coleman, Josh Becker, Brianna and Ashley Keene, Hayden and Issac Lentz. Pallbearers will be Philip Coleman, Ken Coleman, Todd Coleman, John Lentz, Jerry Lynn Glidewell and Mickey Steen. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Thompson, Ben Tullos, Richard Milton and Bobby Tullos.
