Obituary of Verda Odom

Funeral services for Mrs. Verda (Howard) Odom age 72 of Winnfield and formerly of Olla will be held 2pm Sunday Feb.21,2010 from the Olla chapel of Riser Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday Feb. 21,2010 beginning at 12 noon and continuing until time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Odom was born on May 5, 1937 at Columbia,LA to the union of her parents James Samuel "Jim" Howard and Verda Louella (Lowery) Howard and she passed from this life on Feb.19,2010 at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to mourn her passing yet celebrate her life are three daughters: Sonya Kennon and husband Jeff of Olla, Wanda Tanner and husband Jack of Monroe, and Robin Odom of Columbia. Her son: Bobby Odom, Jr. of Alexandria, LA. Two sisters: Flora (Howard) Hillstad of Columbia and Dorothy (Howard) Temples of Monroe. Also seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers include: Jeff Kennon, Cole Kennon Jack Tanner, Mitch Charrier, Jason Peppers, and Matthew Goodman.
