Obituary of Audie Rowland

Funeral services for Mrs. Audie Mae (Rogers ) Rowland age 94 of Columbia will be held 10am Monday from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Stewart Sherman officiating. Interment will follow in the Columbia Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5pm until 8pm at the funeral home. Audie Mae Rogers was born to the union of her parents, the late Narvel Benjamin Rogers and Martha Jane ( Jordan )Rogers . She attended Northwestern University in Natchitoches where she met her husband to be, Leonard Rowland. From this union two children would be born. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and by her brother James Delbert Rogers and her sister Ethel Ee Mixon. She was retired from the Caldwell Parish ASC office , a lifetime member of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation, and a member of the First United Methodist Church which she began attending as a toddler with her parents. Survivors include: Jimmie Ben Rowland and wife Ruby , and Roger Leonard Rowland and wife Charlotte, all of Columbia. Grandchildren: Mary Rowland, of Columbia, Sarah Covington and husband Clay of Columbia, and Roger Rowland, II of Point Aux Chene ,LA . Great-grandchildren: Jordan Hatten of Monroe, Casey Carroll and Jason of Pineville, Haley White of Columbia, and Chase Covington of Columbia, and a great- great grandchild : Sadie Lane White of Columbia. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jordan Hatten , Tommy Latham, Charlie Mack Rowland, Roger Rowland, II; Billy Ellis, Drew Keahey, and Clay Covington. Honorary pallbearers include: Dr. E. D. Coates, Jr , Jerry Stapleton, James Stapleton, Danny Stapleton, Calvin Griffin, Clint Warner, James Marvin Lafferty,Jim Nobles,and Buddy Page.
