Obituary of Marvin Bailey

Funeral Services for Mr. Marvin Louis "Buck" Bailey will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in Palestine Baptist Church with Rev. Lemiel Baugh officiating. Interment will follow in Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 9 from 5pm to 9pm in the Church and from 8am until time of services on Wednesday. Mr. Bailey, 71, of Vixen, was born to the union of Merl William Irene Hargrove Bailey on December 12, 1938 in West Monroe and passed from this life on March 7, 2010 in his residence. He was a water well driller and a member of Big Buck Hunting Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Carolynn Bailey and Mary Jane Parsons, and brother, Donnie Bailey. Those left to cherish Buck are his wife, Mrs. Laverne LaCaze Bailey of Vixen; sons, Ronnie L. Bailey of Lake Providence, Marvin L. Bailey, Jr. and wife Monica of Vixen; daughters, Karen Bailey Beard and friend Shannon Fletcher of West Monroe, Shelia Carter and husband Barry of West Monroe; brothers, Charles Bailey of Vixen, Louis Wayne Bailey and wife Christy of Monroe; sister, Gloria Gooden of Vixen. Grandchildren, Justin Beard, Hunter Carter, Bailey Carter, Abigail Bailey, Landon Bailey, Tate Beard, and Chance Bailey. Pallbearers will be Frankie Steele, Gary Steele, Arthur Fletcher, Mark Beard, Mike Hopkins, and Corey Millien. Honorary pallbearers will be Huey Hutson, O.E. Woods, Crawford Burke, Marvin Ramsey, Eldridge Robert, and Johnny Harper.
