Obituary of Roger Rowland

Funeral services for Roger Leonard Rowland age 65 of Columbia will be held 10am Saturday March 13,2010 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home.Brother Leeman Stamper will officiate. The Rowland family will receive guests on Friday evening from 5 to 8pm at the funeral home. Mr. Rowland died Thursday March 11,2010 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia . Born in Caldwell Parish October 5, 1944 to the union of Leonard Rowland and Audie Mae Rogers Rowland , he spent most all of his life in Caldwell Parish. He was a retired log cutter for Catahoula Timber Company, a graduate of Columbia High School, a member of the First United Methodist Church , and an avid gardener and cook. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: His wife: Mrs. Charlotte Nobles Rowland of Columbia. Son: Roger Leonard Rowland, II of Pointe Aux Chene, LA ; His daughter: Mary Rowland of Columbia. His brother: Jimmie Ben Rowland and wife Ruby of Columbia. His niece: Sarah Covington and husband Clay, of Columbia. Also his grandchildren: Jordan Hatten of Monroe and Casey Carroll and husband Jason of Pineville. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jordan Hatten , Jim Nobles, Tommy Latham, Drew Keahey , Billy Ellis, and Charlie Mack Rowland. Honorary pallbearers include: Jerry Stapleton, Chuck Stapleton, James Stapleton, Danny Stapleton, Calvin griffin, Lonnie Whittington, and Wilmer Lloyd Spangler, Jr.
