Obituary of Ruby Wheeler

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Aline ( Rice) Wheeler, age 65 of Columbia will be held 2pm Friday March 25, 2010 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Whitman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Woolen Lake Church of God Cemetery at Hebert. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 4pm until 9pm at the funeral home. Ruby Aline Wheeler was born on March 19, 1945 at Columbia , LA to the union of Iley Richard Rice and Ruby Belle (Bailey) Rice. She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers Richard Rice and Gerald Rice; and a sister Onedia ( Rice ) Varnell. She is survived by her husband of 46 years. Her four children: Son: Nick Wheeler of Jigger, LA; Daughter: Tammy Thompson and son- in- law Brett of Grayson; Son: Charles Christopher Wheeler and daughter- in- law Cindy of Columbia; and daughter: Susan Cornwell and son -in -law Charles Cornwell of Hebert. Her brother: Stanley Rice of Jigger and her sister Sue Robinson of Gilbert. She also leaves her sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
