Obituary of Duey Baum

Funeral services for Mr. Duey Baum age 68 of Olla will be held 2 PM Monday April 5, 2010 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Cruse will officiate. Interment will follow in the historic Columbia Hill Cemetery. The Baum family will receive guests on Sunday evening from 5:00 to 9:00pm at the Riser Funeral Home located at 7131 U S Highway 165 in Columbia. Duey Baum, born on June 29, 1941 at Olla , LA , was one of nine sibling's born to the union of Thomas and Rose Leavins Baum. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and worked extensively thoughout the North Louisiana area during his career. Although a resident of Olla, Duey had strong family ties here in Caldwell Parish . He was preceded in death by his wife Emma Jean (Moody) Meredith Baum, his parents, and by five brothers; Calvin, R.B. ,Houston Ray, Huey, and James. Survivors include: Son: James Thomas "Tommy" Baum of Tullos. Three daughters: Sandra Gilbert and Terri Willemon both of Cooper, TX and Angela Morris of Gainesville, GA.Three step-daughters: Elizabeth " Libby" Adams ,Buford, GA; Patty Hardy, Aimwell , LA; and Beverly Wierzenski of Gainesville, GA. Three brothers: Archie Baum of Olla, Carl Baum of Columbia, and George Baum of Trinity, TX . Eleven grandchildren: Michael Adams, Christie Grobe, Jon Meredith, Josh Meredith, Jackie Hardy, Travis Meredith, Emmily Meredith, Zachary Thomas Meredith, Daniel Hosch, Harleigh Baum, and Ashton Baum. One great grand-child: Tristyn Massey . Pallbearers will be: Chad Smith, Melton Baum, Ray Baum, Billy Lisenby, Jackie McGurk and Glenn Barnhill. Honorary pallbearers include: Dale Moore , Archie Baum , and Bill Birdwell.
